A Google Sheet is often where LinkedIn research becomes usable. It is easy to share, filter, score, and hand to someone who has never heard of your bookmarking tool. The painful part is keeping it current by copying posts one row at a time.

Why Sheets instead of a CSV download
Use Sheets when the destination should stay current and people need to work together. Use CSV when you need a portable snapshot on disk.
The Google Sheets sync and the CSV download are not the same schema. Sheets appends its integration row with post content, link, author hyperlink, published date, tags, media details, import time, sync-created time, and post ID. CSV has a fixed twelve-column export schema with separate author fields. Do not build an import expecting one to replace the other column for column.

For automatic setup, authorize Google and select the spreadsheet. For manual setup, copy the LinkedMash template, grant the displayed service-account email Editor access, then paste the spreadsheet URL back into LinkedMash.

Confirm the spreadsheet and run the first sync. New saves append to the first sheet tab. Keep the template headers and their order intact, then add your own working columns after the synced fields.
After the initial connection, existing records fill the sheet and new saves continue to append.
What arrives in each row
The integration writes eleven values: post content, post link, an author hyperlink, the published date, tags, image URLs, video URL, document URL, app import time, sync-created time, and post ID. Missing media is represented with a placeholder rather than a CSV-style empty author field.
That shape is designed for a live sheet. It is why a downloaded CSV, with author_name, author_id, author_username, and author_link as separate columns, should be treated as a different export.

Filter the sheet before it becomes another backlog
Create recipes for an author, LinkedMash label, or keyword and send each recipe to a focused spreadsheet. Use !keyword to exclude a term. This works well for one client, competitor set, campaign, or research question per sheet.
- By author: build a competitor or expert tracker without unrelated saves.
- By label: route posts you already classified in LinkedMash into a team sheet.
- By keyword: capture posts that mention a market, problem, product, or content format.
- Several recipes: keep separate Sheets destinations running side by side.
Three useful Sheets workflows
- Competitor tracker: add Notes, Theme, and Follow-up columns, then build a filter view per author.
- Shared swipe file: add a Score column and a reviewer name so the team can turn saved examples into a shortlist.
- Research intake: add Project and Status columns, then use a pivot table to see which authors or topics dominate the library.
Freeze the header, use filter views instead of sorting the shared sheet directly, and keep your human columns to the right. Those small choices prevent the sync data and team workflow from fighting each other.
Limits and failure cases
- The integration appends rows. It does not turn Google Sheets into a durable file backup. Run a file export separately if you need an offline snapshot.
- Deleting the spreadsheet, revoking Google permission, removing the service account, or renaming a required sheet tab can make the connection unavailable. Reconnect it from the integration page.
- The synced row shape is fixed by the integration. Put custom columns after it instead of moving the expected fields.
- A sheet is good for rows and calculations. If each save needs a page of notes, Notion is a better fit.

What columns does the Google Sheets sync create?
Eleven, written for you: Post, Post Link, Author, Post Posted at, Tags, Post Image, Post Video, Post Document, App Imported Time, Created at and Post Id. You do not have to build the header row yourself.
Why did my Google Sheets sync stop adding rows?
Two causes look identical. Either you passed the free plan’s limit on existing bookmarks, which the integration page states directly, or the Google connection went stale and needs reconnecting. Check Last sync at on the recipe: if it is older than your latest save on a paid plan, reconnect Google Sheets.
Can I sync only some saved posts to Sheets?
Yes, with a filter recipe. Match on author, label or keyword, and exclude a term by prefixing it with an exclamation mark. Several recipes can run into several sheets at once without interfering.
